Modern Vehicle Diagnostics
There's no doubt about about it, modern cars contain far more technology than ever. Even relatively simple circuits such as interior lights and electric windows are often now computer controlled. In some ways it should make life simpler, with many car systems containing "self diagnosis" functionality. In a nutshell, this means that a garage should be able to plug in a fault code tester and read the fault codes. However this is only the very beginning of the diagnostic process. Fault codes are only indicators of the symptoms of a fault, though many garages claiming to "do diagnostics" will just go ahead and replace any component mentioned in a fault code without testing it thoroughly. At Motorvation we invest heavily, not only in equipment but also the training and technical data to back it up. So that you can rely on us to fix your fault quickly, efficiently and effectively.
Diagnostics & Us
Over the last five years we have invested heavily in diagnostic equipment and training. This is primarily as a result of the advances in motor vehicle technology. Its no longer within the capabilities of many garages to accurately diagnose the complex electronics systems found in the majority of modern cars. Without the correct training, technical information and equipment, technicians often find themselves in a position of literally guessing what's wrong, then changing parts on little more than a whim, and hoping everything is fixed. Which it rarely is, often the customer ends up footing the bill for the garages bad practice. We took the decision some time ago that we would not be among these garages and so embarked on a programme of training and equipment improvements.
We have found that more often than not Bosch or Hella end up being our chosen suppliers of equipment and training. Their range of technical training courses is vast and of top quality, as is their diagnostic equipment.
Our investment is already paying off as we find ourselves emerging as one of the areas leading diagnostic centres with many other garages bringing us their problem cars for diagnosis.

We are serious about providing the very best quality service to you. That's why we employ ATA registered technicians. ATA registration is a bit like Corgi registration for gas fitters, It shows that technicians have reached a certain level of technical competency. At present ATA accreditation is voluntary but we hope that one day licensing will be mandatory across all garages.
Four Wheel Alignment
These days, as soon as you mention the term vehicle diagnostics most people think of electronics. But when you stop and think about it mechanical parts of the car still wear and develop faults. Many vehicles that we have in for service either pull to one side or have tyres that wear unevenly. When we point this out, we hear drivers telling us things like "Yeah its been like that for ages, I've had the tracking done but it didn't fix it". The fact is that every fault has a remedy and its down to the technicians skill and equipment to find that solution. At Motorvation we have a fully computerised wheel alignment system that is incredibly accurate. Even very small adjustments can make a vehicle feel much safer to drive. It's the first question everybody asks when they bring in a faulty car. The truth is nobody knows how much a diagnosis will cost until the job is fixed. At Motorvation we give the cost control job to you. you can choose a simple fault code test for £35.00 (if applicable) or you can choose the "initial hours diagnosis" option. Whereby we spend an hour diagnosing your fault, at which point we will come back to you with a report of what we have found and a number options with which to proceed. This costs £55.00 plus VAT.
Diesel Do!
Not so long ago diesel cars where really only driven by men with elbow pads and you could spot a diesel van because it was the one "crawling up a hill, just ahead of a cloud of black smoke". Not surprisingly, things have moved on a lot since then. Even the Audi TT is now available in diesel form. In fact, diesel powered cars now make up around 50% of vehicles on the road today. Not surprisingly really as they are now as quiet (well almost), more fuel efficient and more powerful than an equivalent sized petrol engine. You may be pleased to know that we have specialist diesel training and equipment, so that we can offer you the same great standard of workmanship whether your vehicle is petrol or diesel.
Air Conditioning
Air con is another technology that has recently become far more common. Its lovely when its working but when it stops you need a garage that is competent and knowledgeable to put things right.
Air con suffers from many problems, some of which like gas loss and odours should be picked up by routine servicing. Other faults like split hoses etc can happen at anytime. If your air con system should develop a fault our advice is to get it sorted sooner rather than later. Air (and with it moisture) can enter into a leaking air con system causing further damage and complications.

Another question we get asked all the time is can you diagnose my Ford, Vauxhall or Peugeot etc. The fact is that we rarely come across a vehicle that we can't get to the bottom of (VERY rarely). When you break things down you find that many manufacturers will share the same kind of basic system, E.G. BMW, Peugeot and Mercedes all using a Bosch Common Rail diesel system.
As we mentioned earlier we carry out diagnosis work for private individuals, fleet operators, other garages and even main dealers on occasion. With people coming from not only Evesham but surrounding areas such as Cheltenham, Stratford, Worcester and Redditch. We even have customers coming to us from as far as Wales and Devon!
