Due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government has announced that all car and light commercial MOT test that expire after the 30/03/2020 are to be extended by 6 months. We've listed some of the key bits of information in the hope that it helps
The MOT expiry date extension will be applied 7 days before the original expiry date of the MOT test.
It remains an offence to drive a non roadworthy vehicle on the road & it remains the driver's responsibility to ensure the vehicle is road worthy.
The MOT expiry extension scheme may be in place for 12 months (i.e April MOTs will be due in October, May MOTs will be due in November etc). However, the scheme is under constant review and may be withdrawn by the DVSA if required.
As soon as it is safe to do so, we will be offering a basic visual road worthiness check for the peace of mind of our valued customers.
